We celebrated early the weekend prior with a family party full of good company, yummy cake and fun presents. The celebration continued on her actual birthday by going to a local splash pad in the morning followed by a trip to Redamak’s and then the beach afterwards. All in all, it was a good day. So hard to believe she is two already.

Other June highlights include... both the big girls learning to ride on 2 wheels, the littlest discovering the joys of wearing a bicycle helmet (on and off her tricycle), swimming lessons for both big girls and a couple trips to the zoo.

Our July was even busier... we spent another Fourth with our great friends, the Morehouse Family; visited with more great friends, the Garrett Family, in Cincinnati; attended the Spite Family reunion (my dad’s family) where we met tons of cousins, aunts and uncles; raised and released 9 Painted Lady butterflies; and had a great week at our church’s Vacation Bible School.

Other summer highlights, not necessarily photographed, were: catching up with friends we haven’t seen in a while, spending time with new friends at the zoo, swimming lessons part 2, participating in the reading program at the library, more visits to the splash pad / park, over night trips with Grammy at her house, plenty of s’mores over our fire pit, and playing in our backyard pool and sprinklers.

Overall, our summer has been great. It was busy but a good kind of busy. Both girls have started school. Anna is in first grade and Emily is in fourth. It has been just Beanie and me at home during the day. I am enjoying that time with her, as I had time like that with the other 2. But there is something comforting about having all 3 of them home with me that I miss. Such is life...
